So I’m pretty much a Nutella enthusiast: Nutella on waffles, Nutella in hot chocolate and now NUTELLA COOKIES! I wanted to try the Tanya Burr recipe so I modified it a little for personal preferences and here it is! They are absolutely delicous by the way.
You will need:
200 g of unsalted butter
300 g of caster sugar
325 g of self raising flour
1 large egg (I used medium because improv)
1 teaspoon of sea salt (OPTIONAL- a step that I took out)
4 big tablespoons of Nutella
200 g of Galaxy chocolate
To start with, line two baking trays with grease-proof paper and preheat your oven to 180 °C. In bowl, mix you butter and the caster sugar. You can either use a wooden spoon for that killer arm pre-cookie feast work out. Or opt to use a electrical whisk, like I did.
Then add in the egg, and mix well.
When it comes to adding the flour next, add little at a time. At this point I had to use my wooden spoon because my whisk couldn’t handle the mixture as it became doughy.
Then, add in those big scoops of Nutella, this will create a beautiful marble effect for your cookies.
Side note – pour hot water in a bowl and sit your Nutella jar in it for couple of minutes, this will make the Nutella smooth and runny and easy to deal with.
Then add in the chocolate, the level of crazy you want to go is entirely up to you. I put 200g in the ingredient but you can alter according to your preference.
Now your cookie dough is ready, grab a handful and place six cookie dough balls one each tray. (If you’re adding the sea salt, this is where you do it. Sprinkle pinch-ful of the sea salt and sprinkle on top of the cookies).
Leave in the oven for approx 12 minutes.
After they are ready, leave them on the baking tray for another 5-10 minutes then move to a cooling rack.
Then your cookies are READY!
I hope you enjoyed this recipe, let me know if you would like any other recipes.
